sometimes even the fact that i still need to lose 15 pounds isn't enough to keep me motivated to exercise. i have, however, found a few things that seem to be keeping me very motivated lately.
1. coco. running with coco is always an interesting experience. first of all, i know that she will be a force of destruction and annoyance all day long if i don't get out with her and let her release some of her pent up puppy energy. that's usually enough to get me going.
i know that i look completely ridiculous when running with coco. my arm is always being stretched as far as it can stretch without detaching from my body. i'm usually running sideways in an attempt to keep coco from pouncing at anything which attracts her attention, which includes but is not limited to grass, robins, cars, trees, power lines, water puddles, other dogs, and garbage cans. coco keeps me going, though, because i know that if i stop, she will take advantage of the slow down and succeed in pulling my arm out of its socket so that she can catch that bird, or she'll probably strangle herself on the choke collar. either way, it's not pretty. so we keep going.
2. new workout clothes. i owe my mother a huge thanks here because whenever i see her, she has a new something for me to exercise in. i finally have matching workout clothes, and when running outside, i feel like a much more official runner when i at least have matching workout stuff.
3. a new playlist. i have to switch up the playlist weekly or the music puts me to sleep instead of keeping me going. here's this week's list. judge all you want, but if the dog pulling my arm out of its socket isn't enough to keep me motivated, zach effron and a little high school musical can definitely do the trick.

mr. brightside: the killers

Have you ever tried a pinch collar for Coco? They look really mean, but it really helped with our dog and I hated that she would just choke herself all the time.
I need to make you a CD with some real workout music on it. I'll put some Seether, Metallica, Fallout Boy, and I guess you can have a little Zac Efron if you absolutely have too. :)
Thanks for the exercise motivation! I bet Coco loves getting out and running with you, I mean what dog wouldn't want to release all that energy.
I need to update my playlist too, I get bored with some of the songs easily.
haha! I totally agree with the whole workout clothes- i feel so much more professional in them- like I know what I am doing. And I am always making a new workout blog- it's all about the music! I wish you lived closer so we could run together.
I can't begin to run without my ipod and good tunes definitely keep you going! I don't think Little Fuzz would ever go for a run, I guess that's one point for dogs! You need to take a pic of you in your new running outfit and list your current tunes on a scrapbook page!
carly, i love you, i miss you! and i'm so impressed that you're sticking with this!! atta girl! also, i saw your new dr laura book you're reading. how is it? what's it about?!
It's all about the fancy waterbottles for me. I like the kind with the straw built in. It makes me feel oh so official. But I owe all my running time to the ipod. Would never do it without music.
Darling, isnt it graduation time??? I want pics and info and YEAH FOR YOU!!!!!
