dear you.
you can imagine my excitement this week when i opened the package that should have contained a shiny new blue ipod. you can imagine my shock when the package was emtpy! and when i called to see what happened, you casually replied, "oh, it looks like we forgot to put the ipod in the package." the ipod is the only thing that should have been in the package! but whatev. at least you have good customer service and gave me a full refund.

dear staples,
i hate you and your crappy customer service and the fact that you charge corporations more than customers.
from,
the girl who wishes she never had to shop at your store again
dear gap,
i heart your outlet store very much. it's unfortunate that you don't offer cuter/cheaper clothes at your store and website. i would for sure support you more if you had better options.
from,
the girl who can only afford clothes from gap outlet
dear economy,
i did my part in supporting you this weekend. i hope you appreciate it.
from,
the girl who is tired of hearing the phrase, "in this failing economy" before and after every newscast
dear spring weather,
nothing makes me happier than rain. it smells delicious, provides FREE water for the lawn, and makes me want to curl up with a good book. but i should probably be running (more like shuffling) so i don't die in the pleasant view 5k, so please give us a few sunny days before june 27th.

the girl who doesn't like shuffling in the rain

thank you for defending the mormon church on your radio program today. when a woman called our church a cult, you jumped to our defense by complimenting our humanitarian efforts, focus on family, and the sacrifices made by thousands of missionaries to serve their church. it's nice to hear people defend a religion even though they don't believe in all its doctrines.
dear scale,
why did you show such a minimal weight loss this week? not 1, not even .5, but .4. really, how does one loose 2/5 of a pound? i have been so good this week, too! got up early to exercise three times, sacrificed delicious easter candy, and ate only a small cup of fat free yogurt at date night. i am very disappointed in you. you better make up for it next week.
dear millie,
i wish you would not have introduced me to this-
it is my new best friend. and maybe it's the reason why i didn't loose any weight this week. that and your yummy dessert and fajitas. so really it's YOUR fault that the scale showed a loss of only .4 :)
dear mormoninmanhattan,
thank you for writing this article. it made me very grateful that i married a guy who had the gumption to ask me out on dates and who still understands that his wife needs a date night once a week.
dear contacts,
thank you for ripping in half in my eye and right in the middle of class. i blinked, and out you popped. it felt really nice to have half my contact floating in my eye.
dear readers,
thank you for your comments. it makes me feel like i am not talking to myself. and i enjoy hearing what you have to say about what i have to say.
love,
carly

dear USU. . .
holds on my registration every semester.
classes that are required for graduation but only taught 1 semester.
2 weeks to finish what should have been a year-long course.
no parking.
expensive books.
horrible poli-sci teacher.
but this semester will be better.
i guess you want me to leave in a good mood, right?
my science teacher will be awesome. (any teacher who tells the class that he wants to learn all 250 students' names has to be a good one)
my books were only $200.
i found parking.
i can graduate without taking the class you only teach 1 semester.
or i can take the class next fall and make you pay for it.
a psychology class about animal/child abuse that will be fascinating.
thank-you for making this a pleasant semester.
i'm looking forward to it.

a letter
It was really nice to meet you and your two energetic boys. Just a thought- leave them home next time? Or if you can't leave them home, a phone call will surely count as visiting teaching for the month. When you left, I had to wipe down the walls from the mark left when your son threw his shoe at my wall. I had to clean the bathroom and wash my rug because your
