letters

dear dr. laura,
thank you for defending the mormon church on your radio program today. when a woman called our church a cult, you jumped to our defense by complimenting our humanitarian efforts, focus on family, and the sacrifices made by thousands of missionaries to serve their church. it's nice to hear people defend a religion even though they don't believe in all its doctrines.

dear scale,
why did you show such a minimal weight loss this week? not 1, not even .5, but .4. really, how does one loose 2/5 of a pound? i have been so good this week, too! got up early to exercise three times, sacrificed delicious easter candy, and ate only a small cup of fat free yogurt at date night. i am very disappointed in you. you better make up for it next week.

dear millie,
i wish you would not have introduced me to this-

it is my new best friend. and maybe it's the reason why i didn't loose any weight this week. that and your yummy dessert and fajitas. so really it's YOUR fault that the scale showed a loss of only .4 :)

dear mormoninmanhattan,
thank you for writing this article. it made me very grateful that i married a guy who had the gumption to ask me out on dates and who still understands that his wife needs a date night once a week.

dear contacts,
thank you for ripping in half in my eye and right in the middle of class. i blinked, and out you popped. it felt really nice to have half my contact floating in my eye.

dear readers,
thank you for your comments. it makes me feel like i am not talking to myself. and i enjoy hearing what you have to say about what i have to say.

love,
carly

Oh dear. Totally love Dr. Laura. I have heard her defend the Church a few times too. She is pretty amazing. :) I applaud your weight loss efforts. I gained like .4 of a ton this week, so you're doing good!

I'm not a huge fan of Dr. Laura, but I do appreciate her family values and whatnot, and that she did such a thing without assuming things about our church just as so many do!

Your letters were cute :)

I LOVE this post!!! Sorry I contributed to the bad weight loss week...next time I'll make something gross!!! I'm glad you love Wholly Guacamole, though! I'll tell ya, Lasik was the best think ever. Those little contacts are buggers!

That is totally great Carly! That makes me thrilled that people are standing up for the church, especially when so many people have it wrong! It will be so nice to watch conference this weekend! You know I totally understand about contacts...the day of Junior prom, my last pair ripped partway, there was no way I was going to wear my glasses, so I just wore the contacts...I know, the worst thing you can do! My eyes were bright red when I got home!!
Hey, still way to go on the .4!!

Ah, Dr. Laura. Some days I get anxiety attacks when I listen to her. She is my hero. As for the weight, last Saturday when I saw you you looked pretty darn great, so I wouldn't worry. The Guac is killer. You will NEVER go back. We've known for quite awhile that contacts suck, but it's better than being blind. Yay for bad genes! Love you.

Oh Carly. This brings back many lovely memories of us writing back and forth...after all, we did live a whole 20 minutes apart. I'm glad to hear Dr. Laura is indeed everything you thought she would be... :) Let's get together, maybe after your finals?

Hey Cars -

Don't mind Steven when he bashes; just bash back. It's all fun.

This was a great post;

I forgot what else I was going to say.

Oh - LASIK. See my post.
