obviously i failed miserably at taking a picture a day for the last half of december. oops.

i blogged yesterday, then deleted the post because it sounded like i was wallowing. frankly, i spent the last half of december wallowing, but it's a new year and i don't want my first post to be a 'poor me' post. despite the major breakdown in the middle of december, our holidays were great. we watched a lot of football & a season of 24. we spent our time with family. we thanked God for the birth & life of His son. we opened & exchanged gifts. we helped bethie & jacki move. we watched movies. we cooked new recipes & i sewed a few baby gifts. we got together with friends & spent a whole week with very little on our to-do list. we needed the break.

i usually feel so motivated at the beginning of a new year. and i should really be feeling it this year- it's the beginning of a new decade! i make more lists than usual and get excited about setting goals and evaluating the many areas i can improve in during the next year. i haven't felt that at all this year. for some reason i'm missing that refreshing new year feeling. nonetheless, i have a few resolutions.

first, i would like to start using coupons, but i'll be honest, everytime i try to read one of the million coupon blogs about getting started, i get lost in the acronyms like B2G1 and OOP and ES and RP....i could go on. i quit reading by the third sentence because the sentences aren't even sentences, they are just capital letters. and i have no clue what any of them stand for. so maybe my resolution should be to figure out the lingo?

second, i will be using this as a guide for giving our home a good deep cleaning. my mom will be proud.

third, i will be attending extracurricular relief society activities.

and finally, i am going to try try try not to breakdown each month. i can't crash again like i did in december. my tear ducts will dry out, i will have a never-ending headache, and my husband might just put me in the psychiatric ward.

here's to coupons, cleaning, church activities, and no more breakdowns. happy 2010.
