project overload

i feel slightly guilty that while mike is spending all evening on campus, i get to stay home and play. i have used the lonely nights to complete several projects....

1: pillow. i will definitely be making more of these. it's made from felt (CHEAP!) and the flower clusters down the center are made by pinching about 70 3" circles in the middle and hand sewing each circle on. make sense? i'll try to find the tutorial i found on etsy for making this. it was fun.

2: give thanks. a little paint, a little paper, a little mod podge, a little ribbon, and ta-da!

3: shelf. mike's friend ben built this awesome shelf for us when we got married. we couldn't hang it in our apartment, and when we bought our house, it was one of those things that we always talked about finishing but never did. so 3 years later, it is painted and hanging on the wall, just waiting for the perfect accessories to go on top of it. 4: christmas throw. this one turned out a little retarded. my sqaures don't match up AT ALL. if you look at the front and back at the same time, well it's quite embarassing. but i love the pom pom trim and i learned that i will probably not be making any blankets/quilts in the near future. too much cutting, pinning, and measuring for me :)now that i've finished some projects, i can dive in to my christmas fabric stash to make soft trees, stockings, and a table runner.

I love all of them! Your pillow turned out darling! I can't wait to make one myself. Your Give Thanks sign is too cute and I LOVE how your shelf turned out. Where did you find those fun star hooks? Your quilt doesn't look stupid at all. I can't wait for Christmas crafts!

Can you teach me how to be creative like you?

Any just so you know, we made a shelf for my mother at the same time we made one for you guys and she never finished it either, so for her birthday this year I got it from her storage shed and painted it so that she could finally hang it in her new house . . . so the moral of the story is don't feel to bad about just hanging it up.
