new york new york

Mike and I have been saving our moolah to take a trip to celebrate my graduation in the Spring (the end is in sight!) I am thinking that I would love to go to New York City in December. Seeing Rockefeller Center all lit up, ice staking in Central Park, a little last minute Christmas shopping... I really want to go! So to those of you who have been to New York, any suggestions on where to stay, things to do, the best time to go? Has anyone been to New York in December? Or should we forget New York and head somewhere a little warmer and sunnier?

Let me suggest.... Hmmm.... Uh, well I wouldn't know. Because sadly, I've never been. :( But I would say to visit the toy store on Home Alone 2. Not like I've been there, but it looks pretty cool. (and watch out for crazy bird ladies in the park) Hope it works out and you get some better suggestions than this.

I've been 3 times, twice in August and once in April. I loved it all three times! In fact, if I ever go again, I would do December! I say go for it. (You should see the Rockette's Christmas show, I've heard it is amazing) When we went we stayed right in the city. We always get our hotels on Priceline and have had great luck, so far. Last time we stayed right across the street from the United Nations building. We always take the subway everywhere, cabs are too pricey. I have always felt very safe taking it and it is easy to navigate.

Well- when I lived out there christmas was my favorite time! It is soooooo crowded but I think the hustle and bustle is all part of the season and the city. There is a marriot right in times quare that is nice or anything on the upper west side(then you are by the temple:) You are making me miss it so I am going to be very jealous of you!!!! Definitely do new york!

New york?!?! When were you going to tell me this? The only way you can go there is if you take me with you. Otherwise I will get way to jealous and it won't be good :)

I would ask Erika. She just got back from a nice vacation there and she had lots of good insights to share. She's a smarty. I would suggest going to "The Shop Around The Corner" because nothing says Christmas like Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks. Wait, probably not a real store. Even if it was it's probably turned into something depressing, like a baby gap anyway.

I'm with Kennedy..If you go to New York(which I think you should)you must take me. :) I would love to go there someday, that is my dream vacation besides Hawaii of course. Anyways, I think you should go because it would be awesome around Chritmastime. Sorry can't give you much insight.
