Quidditch, anyone?

Mike and I were at Wal-Mart today and the very friendly cashier (which is rarely found at Wal-Mart) told me my jacket looked like a Quidditch jacket from Harry Potter. She was convinced it was authentic and I'm pretty sure if I offered to sell it to her, she would have paid me mucho dinero for the cheap jacket that I acutally bought at Old Navy.
But does anyone see the resemblance?

Speaking of Wal-Mart, I just got done writing a 15 page research paper about Wal-Mart for a class that might be the death of me and will probably cause me to loose my scholarship. I've never worked so hard in a college class and yet my hard work is not helping much. Anyway, people have some very strong opinions about Wal-Mart. One guy says, "Wal-Mart is a vicious cycle: it starts with lower prices, and leads over time to a single player essentially rewriting the economics for everybody. Pretty soon there fewer employers, lower wages, less medical coverage, more poverty--this is a societal fight, and Wal-Mart destroys society." I don't love the store- it's busy, crazy, screaming kids everywhere, the store is ugly inside and out, but let's face it: as much as we all hate the place, we all shop there. Apparently I'm contributing to our society's demise because I shop at Wal-Mart and I look like I just walked out of a Harry Potter quidditch game. Wow.

That's so funny she thought you looked like you came straight from Harry Potter! I actually don't like Walmart, I haven't shopped at a Walmart in over 3 years, so I am personally taking a stand, but I do hate that I have to drive past Walmart to get to another store...it seems like I should just give in, but until then...I'm standing my ground!

But would you wear a Slytherin jacket? You always seemed more like a Gryffindor to me!:) I always swear I will never go in Wal-mart again when I'm there. And then, before I know it, I"m back, buying more of that stupid, cheap shaving cream, etc.

Ok, I typed my comment and then scrolled down to submit it and happened to read my moms comment; it was almost the exact same... seriously, the slytherin/gryffindor comment and everything... so, what my mom said.

Hey Carly: Thanks for leaving a note on my blog. I can't believe you're married and grown up. What happened to me telling you "NO! Go back to bed, ok????" I can't believe it. Hope all is well with you and your hubby!

That is funny Carly! I kind of see a resemblance, but then I really don't. :) I think you are from Gryffindor myself..hehe.
I actually sent Becky the link to my blog and she was able to get on and view it. Thanks for being concerned. :)
Love the new background by the way..where did you find it?

That's so funny. My mom went into wal mart one time after exercising in the clothes she got there (which were pretty much guy clothes) and she saw a latino guy wearing almost the exact same thing! I don't know who was more offended.. :)
